Because He lives...

One of Pennsylvania's "Leading" healthcare systems didn't care enough about yet another patient to find the cause of her problems or to even listen to her concerns with sincerity. Instead, they simply prescribed medications to treat symptoms. Finally some "routine" tests revealed the Peritoneal Carcinomotosis to her doctors. After seeking a 2nd opinion at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America (Chicago, IL), my mother, Brenda Doherty, was given the same diagnosis, but with much more care, professionalism, and thorough evaluation. When initial surgery was found to not be an option, she began chemotherapy. Now, she has to travel back to Chicago (as her local CTCA is out of Network with her insurance) for her remaining chemotherapy treatments. In order for my father to accompany her, he has to pay his own way (which we completely understand). The travel expenses have already been more significant than expected and she's only just started treatment. In order to make things as cost effective as possible, my parents are planning to drive the 10+ hours to Chicago for any remaining visits. While this makes sense to me, I would love to see them be able to fly out so that Mom can avoid the lengthy drive out and back. Their next trip out will be mid-August, so I would love to enough money to pay for the airfare before that trip. While this is a short window, our God is so gracious and loving, that I know he will meet their needs as He sees fit. My parents would NEVER ask anyone for a handout, and I hope I'm not overstepping my boundaries, but I love my parents dearly and want them to have as much help as possible during this extremely difficult time. Please, give as the Lord impresses on your heart. No gift is too small. And most importantly, PRAY! Psalm 145:18 tells us "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth." Please join us in prayer asking for Mom's healing, but ultimately for the Lord's will with Mom's cancer. If you have yet to experience the love of the Lord Jesus Christ for yourself, please open your heart and seek a Firm, Bible-believing, Born-Again Christian to show you how to accept Him as your personal Saviour.
