On 1 April 2025, at 13 years old, Will was unexpectedly diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). He was unable to walk unaided for around six months, underwent 11 months of intensive chemotherapy, and had major leg surgery. He spent around 110 nights in hospital and had an additional 115 day trips. Will endured numerous platelet and blood transfusions, life-threatening infections, and nosebleeds. Not the usual teenage experience.

Will’s treatment ceased in March 2026, and it was hoped that life would return to ‘normal’. It did for around six wonderful weeks. However, in early June, Will’s first lot of post-chemo scans revealed that the cancer had returned to both his leg and lungs. There are limited treatment options for relapsed osteosarcoma. He has already undergone lung surgery, has chosen to start salvage chemo, and is ‘up for’ having his leg amputated. These are not choices and considerations a (now) 14-year-old should need to be making, but Will continues to handle himself with great humour and positivity.

Will’s parents, Scott and Heidi, would love to be able to balance being able to provide Will (together with his brothers Caiden and Ethan) with the opportunity to do activities as a family, whenever Will is physically able to, alongside the relentless ‘cost of living’ expenses.

On behalf of Will and his family, thank you for your consideration, kindness, generosity, and support. Your compassion will help them focus on what matters most, making every moment together count.

No donation is too small, and if you’re not able to contribute, please consider sharing this page instead. It would mean a lot.
