UPDATE!: I HAVE TURNED OFF DONATIONS. As of today, with the help of friends and family, my mothers mortuary expenses are taken care of. I'm still awaiting the call from the mortician, but im hoping to have her moved today or tomorrow. I want to thank everyone that donated and shared to make this possible. Its been a rare experience to feel so surrounded and supported by my community. I am truly grateful, I can never thank you all enough
Hi, I'm Ashley, Leslie Merle Jenkins'(Gideon) daughter, thank you for your interest in helping me and my family in our time of grieving and financial distress. My mother, Leslie, was a kind women that never judged someone on their social or financial status. She loved to keep things simple. This lead to her decision to donate her body with the plan to further scientific studies and/or help someone else in need. Unfortunately, after a conversation with the donation registery they regretfully denied her request after learning she lived abroad in Italy in the early 90's. This denial has left financial responsibility on my family and I we are unprepared for. She passed March 1st in Reno, NV with her father, Bill Gideon, close by. We are still awaiting her full autopsy report, but first responders believe it was a heart attack. Mom is prepared for the mortuary, but we can't have her transported until payment is received in full. We are opting for a simple cremation and shipping her ashes from Nevada to Tennessee. Thank you for reading, and we are extremely grateful for any amount to help with Leslie's mortuary expenses.
