Bec – A Daughter, Sister, Friend, Aunty, Girlfriend, Niece, Cousin, Pup Mum.
An incredible best friend!
After being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in May 2019 at the age of 34, Bec underwent 5 months of chemotherapy followed by a bilateral mastectomy in November 2019. In December 2019 she had more surgery to remove lymph nodes in her right side. The beginning of 2020 included 5 weeks of radiation and the introduction to COVID-19!
Bec managed to return home after 11 months of aggressive treatments in Melbourne (healthy and cured) to the warm weather and her partner in Darwin. She is pretty fucking tough to say the least!
Unfortunately, something in the universe decided this isn't the end of Bec’s fight.
For the past 4 weeks Bec has been experiencing severe abdominal pain.
The diagnosis, breast related liver cancer.
This means that the original cancer from last year has been travelling around her body and landed on the liver and metastasized into a malignant tumor.
Unfortunately the treatment options are extremely limited here in Australia.
Anyone that knows Bec knows she has a fear of missing out and will also never give up... anything! Therefore she's up for the fight. She's not going to settle for just one option (oral chemotherapy) and she's certainly not going to miss out on anything.
She's going to kick this thing (again)!
Bec has been extensively researching and found a centre that specialise in Integrative Oncology and alternative methods of health treatment (not available in Australia).
