Lots of you know me as Becky Mccaig's mum and I'm trying to raise funds to help Bec get her smile back. Bec has spent over 3 months in hospital with one illness that then led to another. She was admitted originally with strep A infection in her blood stream which led to pneumonia which then led to endocarditis which damaged 3 of her heart valves. Due to her having gum disease they had to remove all of her top set of teeth and 2 from the front at the bottom before they could do open heart surgery to replace 2 heart valves and repair 1. Bec along with lots of people doesn't have an NHS dentist which has meant she has been referred to the community dentist to have dentures. Her first appointment on the 10th December was cancelled, she then saw them yesterday but nothing was done and has now been given an appointment for the beginning of March and that will be just to take impressions. In the meantime she has no top teeth which on top of everything she has been through is now affecting her mental health and causing her to spend all her time at home not able to be out and about due to being embarrassed at having no teeth. I am hoping I can raise enough funds to get her seen sooner by a private dentist and help her with her recovery and get her smile back
