#bebravewithblane
Blane Everhart is a 9 year old boy in 3rd grade at Glenford Elementary with a love for baseball and Lego’s. Blane lives with his parents Scott and Lindsey and his older brother Blaze. On Feb. 17, Blane was taken to the ER with knee pain. The results from his X-ray turned their whole world upside down. They discovered a baseball sized tumor on his knee. He was rushed to Children’s hospital where more tests were performed that verified their biggest fears. Blane was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an aggressive, malignant bone cancer. They began chemotherapy treatments immediately, which have unfortunately been a struggle for him but he continues to be so brave.
On May 14, Blane is scheduled to have a limb-salvage surgery which will remove his knee and half of his femur and replace them with a prosthesis. He will be facing a long few months of recovery before he will be able to walk without assistance again. Following surgery, he will start back into 20 more weeks of chemo treatments.
As you can imagine, a diagnosis such as this can have a negative impact emotionally and financially for a family. This GoFundMe has been set up so that you can help support Blane and his family so that finances aren’t something they have to worry about as well.
If you would like to follow Blane’s progress, there is a Facebook page set up, #bebravewithblane
Let’s come together and show them all the love and support we can give as a community. Please keep Blane and his family in your prayers. ❤️
