Hello, my name is Antoinette Richards-Cosey and I am the oldest niece of Lisa B. Pullens. Lisa is my mom's baby sister and one of the most loving and nurturing women you will ever meet. On January 8, 2025, Lisa and her husband, Eld. Perez Pullens, lost their home to the fires in Altadena, CA. A home that was partially built with their bare hands. The home that they raised their 3 children in, and that was open to all who needed a safe space, a warm bed, or a place to break bread and fellowship.
Perez and Lisa have been known to give their last dollar to someone in need. They both have a love for people, with a special affinity for youth. They have been mentors and role models to those in our family as well as in their careers. Lisa, a Registered Nurse who specialized in Pediatric Hemophilia, dedicated her life to educating her patients and their families. She built lifelong relationships that she treasures to this day. Perez, affectionately known as Mr. P to the students and staff in the Pasadena Unified School District, worked diligently while fostering an atmosphere of trust and encouragement for the students.
Recently retired, they were just starting to be able to enjoy the home they built and in what seemed to be a blink of an eye, everything was gone.
There is no way to replace the monumental moments that were created in this home, but the memories will live forever. With your help, they can start to create new memories from the ashes in a space that is comfortable to them.
- All funds will be dispersed to Perez and Lisa to assist in recovering from the loss of something that was such an integral part of the lives of so many.
