Beauty Temple Salon Fire Recovery

Donation protected
I love my job but even more I love the home I’ve built within the walls of 743 S Main St. Suite #8. As many of you may know another business is in (the Old Town Mall where our salon resides) had a devastating fire Saturday evening. While the fire didn’t touch our shop or the others in the hall it did leave our salon with extensive smoke damage. The fire itself is still under investigation and it has been a lot of work to coordinate restoration recovery of the building. Thankfully our landlord is heading that up and we are all working diligently together through this tragedy. And that’s exactly what this is for us.

Most likely we won’t be able to return back to work in our salon until January or possibly February. As our building abstained extensive damage. We have to start back at ground zero. Luckily we have all found other salons to rent from in the interim (which we are extremely grateful for). But it means saying goodbye to our work family as we will be separated.

It’s not easy finding a salon space/crew that feels like home. But at The Beauty Temple that’s what we created. We first opened our doors at the start of the pandemic and faced our industries first ever shut down. A rocky start to say the least but we managed to overcome it together. Within those walls we have laughed, cried, made friends who have become family, have mourned losses, soothed heartache, navigated covid, and have celebrated big and small wins.

Walking into our space in the aftermath of the fire was eerie and devastating. The fire took away the joy and warmth within those walls. It’s mendable with time but it won’t be the same. If you’ve have ever experienced the trauma of a fire then you know how hard this is. Insurance covers a lot but it doesn’t replace everything.

I’m not worried about myself financially but I am worried about my girls. Losing all their product and tools is a huge loss to take unexpectedly. I will be setting up a go fund me in efforts to assist them financially as they get back on their feet in their new salon spaces.

I’d like to raise $400 for each of my girls (Makayla, Teira, and Faith) to go towards new products and tools.

I’m incredibly appreciative of all the love and support we have received from friends, family and our community. We look forward to coming out stronger the other side of this. And can’t wait to bring The Beauty Temple back in business once our building is restored.
