ABOUT THE FILM
Beauty Grown From Thorns is an A Rose Media Co. production in collaboration with Granados Productions and G-Squad Entertainment. It is the film adaption of the new poetry book, Beauty Grown From Thorns. This film brings the collection of 65 original poems to life through cinematic visuals. Beauty Grown From Thorns is to be filmed March 23 - 24, 2024, and will be premiered in September of 2024.
MISSION STATEMENT
Beauty Grown From Thorns brings viewers into a new element and light to Ashley Wilson’s art. Her poems bring inspiration, healing, and hope as she has come to learn, you are not alone in the raw experiences that life brings.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR, WRITER, AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Ashley Wilson is the creator behind the YouTube channel, Ashley’s Roses, and the host and producer of the Blooming Roses Podcast. She is the author of the poetry book, Beauty Grown From Thorns. Through her independent production company,
Ashley has produced two films, I Choose You and Mezzaluna, and her third upcoming film, Beauty Grown From Thorns. Ashley uses her platforms to share her story and bring awareness to cystic fibrosis. She strives to create multi-media content, seeking positive change in a modern world.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
As Hollywood has faced it’s struggles with repeated strikes, production crew members and actors have drastically been affected. Fair pay, diversity within cast and crew, passion for the art, and creating with purpose, drives the current and new generations of film. This is the generation that wants to and will continue to make a difference in the film industry.
Beauty Grown From Thorns is an independent film and a passion project with talented crew members and cast. There are limited resources and all the funding for an independent film is raised primarily by the creator of the film itself.
To not only bring this film to life and to pay the cast and crew fairly, we need your support.
PRE - PRODUCTION - $4,600.00
In this phase of the film, all funds will go to film permits and insurance for the film. The funds will also go towards securing the film location, pay for lodging for the crew, and a portion of the costumes and props.
PRODUCTION - $16,200.00
In this phase of the film, all funds will go to pay the production crew members, cast, food, rental equipment, props, costumes, and makeup.
POST - PRODUCTION - $10,300
In the last phase of the film, all funds will go to pay the post-production crew members, and distribution fees for festivals and the premiere.
