Beautiful Lola

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am starting this fundraiser for my dear friends/family's beautiful dog Lola.

Lola is a beautiful, sweet, playful, vibrant 7-year-old Yorkie and the apple of this family's eyes.

3 years ago (during the pandemic) Lola's eye was accidentally scratched by a playful outside kitten, the scratch resulted in an infection which lead to the complete removal of the eye. Lola recovered beautifully and has since adapted to her loss, she still runs when prompted "Lolie get the ballie"

About a month ago Lola started to exhibit signs of what can only be described as pain, she was taken to the vet several times, and with oral medication and prayer, her family hoped to see an improvement. Unfortunately, Lola did not improve as she was not eating or drinking, she was unable to walk and all she was able to do was lay on the floor and cry. At this point, the decision was made to seek further medical attention at the Red Bank Animal Hospital. Upon further investigation with an MRI her diagnosis was a chronic and acute herniated disk that was pushing on the nerves causing her severe pain. Yesterday Lola underwent a laminectomy to repair the disk, she is recovering nicely however time will tell as she can lose the ability to walk. Last night's update from the neurosurgeon, she is sleeping in a castle of blankets.

As many of us animal lovers know, the cost of animal care is astronomical however the alternative for those who cannot afford help would be devesting. Our fur babies are not just pets, they are part of our family, which is why I am asking for help for Lola as she will most likely need medications, follow-up visits and maybe even PT. ~ God bless those who found it in their hearts to help.
