Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers, We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea to help our beloved rescue dog, Diesel. Diesel, a sweet and spirited 3-year-old big oaf, has brought immense joy and love into our lives since we adopted him. Unfortunately, Diesel recently suffered a severe injury to his cruciate ligament, which has left him in constant pain and unable to run and play as he used to. Diesel's Journey Diesel came into our lives as a five-week-old puppy, riddled with worms, cold and hungry after he was left to die. His first family did not have the means or compassion to provide the care he needed and had decided that drowning him would be the easier choice. He was a frightened, untrusting little man, but with patience and love, he transformed into the happiest and most loveable larrikin and the loyalist of companions we could have ever hoped for. Diesel has a boundless love for life and chasing his favourite ball is his passion. It can be intimidating to have a 55kg Bull Arab, at full speed, come towards you in the park but he only has eyes for his ball and will welcome anyone and their pets with open arms once his ball is safely in the hands of Dad. The Urgent Need A few weeks ago, Diesel jumped off the couch and yelped in pain as he slipped on the tiles. After a visit to the vet, we were devastated to learn that he had ruptured his cruciate ligament. The vet has recommended immediate reconstructive surgery to prevent further damage and to alleviate his pain. Without this surgery, Diesel's condition will only worsen, and he will face a future of suffering and immobility. How You Can Help The quote for Diesel's surgery, including post-operative care and rehabilitation, is $6,100. As much as we want to provide the best care for Diesel, this amount is beyond our means.
