Beau Merritt's Journey: From Dialysis to Stability
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Beau Merritt and six months ago I was diagnosed with end stage renal disease at the relatively young age of 30.
On May 21st I was admitted to the hospital because I was very short of breath and had really high blood pressure. I spent 5 days there and while I was there they implanted a catheter into my neck so that I could start dialysis ASAP. I originally was going to wait another month or so to start, but the doctors felt I needed to start right away.
May 23rd was my first dialysis session and since then I have been going three days a week. I’m unable to work while I undergo dialysis due to the time restraints and my overall condition. I was the only one working in my house so it’s been tough with money, which is why I decided to start this fundraiser.
I’m asking for just enough to cover our bills for the next month while I wait to hear back from disability and other organizations. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone doing this, but I feel it’s necessary to keep my family safe and secure while we try to navigate this new life I have. So thank you so much for reading and if you decide to donate, my family and I are incredibly thankful for your generosity!
