Hello family and friends,
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the new year!
For those of you who are not aware, I am currently in my second year of nursing school at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. I continue to feel extremely blessed and privileged to be receiving such a detailed and hands-on education from the nursing program and feel constantly reassured that this is what I am meant to be doing. I am eager to grow as a nurse and gain experience in any way that is presented to me, be it large or small.
This upcoming March, I will be embarking on an extremely exciting trip to Brazil, along with twenty other nursing students and nursing faculty, traveling along the Amazon River by boat, on mission to serve the people who live remotely along the river's edge with medical remediation and any other service they may need. We will be serving on behalf of Justice & Mercy International, in partnership with Belmont University. This Amazon Boat trip helps to accomplish our purpose of educating, equipping, encouraging and caring for these precious ones who live along the Amazon's endless banks. We will spend the week on a boat down the river, where we will visit and provide aid to numerous villages located along the banks of the Amazon. Each day we will be traveling to a new village, setting up medical clinics within them and doing our best to properly care for the people residing there. Due to the remote location of these villages, a lot of medical need is related to parasite-induced illnesses and pain, as only half of the villages on the Amazon have access to clean water. Along with medical aid, we will be making house visits to bring a word of encouragement and prayer, VBS activities with the children as well as assisting with various construction projects. In all of this, we hope to bring the vibrant love of Jesus to these people in many different forms and serve them with all we are able.
My goal is to raise $2,200, which is the cost of the trip. Your support through prayer, encouragement, and/or a monetary donation is greatly appreciated and would bless me in gaining this invaluable experience and most importantly, the people we will be serving.
With Gratitude and Love,
Beau Glenn
