“Beau” is a well loved and well cared for American Morgan Horse. He presented as a colic Aug 22 at 4:30 pm, medication was immediately given per veterinarian instructions to see if we could make him comfortable. It was quickly evident that we needed to choose a different path. Our team of Western Sky Instructors assisted with transportation of Beau to Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital.
Beau has been a youth horse for many years, a lesson horse, and then Rachel’s best friend. She worked really hard this year to get ready to travel with Beau to the Cowboy Dressage Finals, including riding with Cowboy Dressage Partners Lyn Ringrose Moe and Eitan Beth-Halachmy.
Uppn examination Dr Devine gave choices for Beau’s fate. With strength and grace Rachel and her mom were faced with a huge decision. We all were together while surgery was performed, a 360 twist of his colon was discovered. He is in recovery and pricked his ears when he heard our voices. If you can help in any way, no matter how small or great a donation is greatly appreciated towards his veterinary bills.
