This past month has turned life upside down for our dear friends Jenny and Beau. While on vacation, Beau was rushed to the ER with severe abdominal pain. After many appointments, scans, and biopsies, the doctors delivered the news: Beau has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.

Beau has already fought and beat skin cancer twice in the past, but this time the cancer has spread to his pancreas, left lung, and small spots in his brain. His medical team is moving quickly, beginning a newer immunotherapy treatment and consulting with radiation oncologists to determine the best treatment plan moving forward.

As if this diagnosis weren’t heavy enough, Beau’s entire department at work was unexpectedly laid off the following week. He is now searching for new employment while also facing the reality that his health insurance will only continue through October. Jenny has returned to work full-time, bringing many changes to the family’s childcare dynamic on top of the already dramatic challenges they are facing.

Through it all, Beau and Jenny have shown incredible strength, courage, and love for each other and their family. But the financial strain of medical bills, daily expenses, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead is overwhelming.
