Jeff Rathbun is one of the most loving and gentle men that you may ever come across.
He is a loving father, grandfather, husband, and friend. He is a writer, an artist, and a veteran. Now he has to add fighter to that list and hopefully soon survivor.
On the day before Thanksgiving 2016 Jeff Rathbun heard the words "It's stage 4 tongue cancer" come out of his doctor's mouth. A diagnosis that would alter the course of his and his family's future. However, it is up to us to help determine what that future will be. Stage 4 tongue cancer is treatable. It is a fight that can be won and we are hoping for your help in winning it.
Over the past year a multitude of doctors have been trying to figure out why it was becoming increasingly difficult for Jeff to talk and swallow. Because Jeff has never been a smoker, most doctors assumed it was neurological and related to a severe head injury suffered in a car accident many years ago. Since it took so long to produce a proper diagnosis the tumor in his tongue was allowed to grow and spread to his lymph nodes. Jeff could have crumbled with this news, but he did not, he chooses to fight.
He has taken his battle to the Cleveland Clinic, the best Cancer Treatment Center relative to his home town of Corry, PA. As his family we are doing everything we can to make sure he gets the best treatment he can and beat this disease. Unfortunately, we have come to the realization that you cannot beat cancer with sheer will, love and familial support, the battle is also financial. Much of the treatments are not covered through his insurance, nor are the prescriptions. We are asking for your help to ease the burden of this load and help Jeff return to his loving, gentle, life.
All and any donations will be greatly appreciated, and will go directly to costs incurred due to Jeff's Cancer Treatment.
