Over the past 4 years, I have been quietly fighting a war inside my body—a war against Lyme disease and multiple medical conditions that have brought me to my knees. This illness has stolen so much from me: my health, my independence, my relationships, my ability to work, to laugh, to enjoy life, and even my sense of being alive. There have been days when I lay alone in bed, unable to move, my body wracked with pain so deep it felt like it was eating me alive from the inside out. My heart, my organs, my nervous system—every part of me has been under attack. And in those moments, it felt like the world went on without me, while I was trapped in a body that had become my prison.

The isolation is unbearable at times. I have no family, no support system. It’s just me and my loyal little dog, who is often my only reason to fight another day. There have been days I couldn’t even make it to the kitchen to feed myself. Days where I couldn’t work to pay my bills or grow the businesses I’ve poured my soul into. I’ve fought thoughts I never thought I would have—dark, hopeless thoughts. Not because I want to die, but because the unrelenting suffering makes you question how much one person can take. And yet… I keep holding on. Because deep inside, I know my life has a purpose. I know there’s a future where I am not only healed but fully alive—vibrant, strong, and walking in the fullness of my calling.
