WE NEED YOUR HELP!
For the past 9 years we have provided a program called BEAT THE STREETS program to nearly a half a million students across the country. Telling a story of three teenagers who work with each other, instead of against each other to achieve their ultimate goals of becoming doctors. Through this inspiring story we tackle a variety of topics to help students achieve optimal success.
We have received countless stories from students saying how it has inspired them to go to college, some even were inspired to attend medical school. We have students that have decided to do better in school by stopping themselves or someone else from bullying, or making positive pacts with their friends to do what it takes to graduate and achieve their goals. We have thousands of letters, social media messages and more that shows the enormous impact this program has had on students, and we could not have done it without you. We cannot thank you enough for your support up to this point. Like many people, Covid 19 has forced us to become innovative in how we approach our program. As schools provide more and more online resources for students to have school online, we also wanted to provide resources that will help provide ENRICHMENT in a very fun and engaging way, in the same way students feel when they leave our live programs.
Before Covid, we enjoyed having hundreds, sometimes thousands of students in the same building enjoying and experiencing this program together along with us. As of right now, we will continue to assess the situation to determine if we can continue to have live shows with limited seating and CDC guidelines in place. For the last few months, we have been working with different companies putting together a groundbreaking virtual experience for students called "THE BEAT THE STREETS EXPERIENCE". This virtual program includes interactive games, quizzes, college/career prep, mock college applications, mock job applications, financial literacy, all while guiding them through an engaging interactive story that teaches on cyber, physical, verbal bullying, the importance school/teachers, violence, peer pressure, goal setting, consequences, self awareness, self esteem, suicide prevention and much more. Students will have to answer questions as a character within our story, make decisions that could change the course of their lives within the story. They will learn about what it takes to accomplish their goals, setting their career choices and following through on those choices. This is done all in a very fun interactive way where it will not feel like another assignment for students, but a fun journey that will enrich and educate them on a variety of topics. This program will include hours of content that will continue to be added to throughout the school year, tackling different subjects. This will be provided through an online interface that each student can sign on to and experience
We are hard at work on this virtual experience for students and plan to have it prepared to offer in August before the start of the school year. We could use your help to bring us to the finish line with this program. We believe this will allow us to be able to impact more students but also provide follow up support and reinforce our overall message of HOPE for the students.
