Helping Bear & honoring Eric

Eric Larson, a dear friend to many, passed suddenly at home along with his beloved dog, Sam. (Sam needed life sustaining medication and without it, sadly, he passed as well.) Eric’s other dog Bear was in the home alone with them for a couple days until the police arrived to do a wellness check on Eric, after many friends became concerned.

We can’t imagine how frightened and confused Bear must have been.

So thankful that Eric’s friend, Tanya, was able to set up the wellness check as well as reach out to our wonderful dog community, and find someone to help get Bear from the shelter.

One thing all of Eric’s friends absolutely knew, was that his only concern would be for Bear’s wellbeing.

The Hunde_haus family, generously, dropped everything and drove 11hrs both ways to pickup Bear from the shelter and welcomed him into his forever home. Sam’s ashes will also be sent to them so he can be with Bear.

Bear has pretty extensive medical needs, both preexisting conditions that we were aware of, but also new ones. He’s on a prescription diet, supplements, needs frequent bloodwork, medications, has GI issues, and his most recent vet visit they found abnormal liver values that require additional testing. He also needs some dental issues addressed.

We would love to help the Hunde_haus family with all these expenses.

A community came together and something beautiful can come from this tragedy. Bear is safe & loved with an amazing family and we just want to do right by Eric and Sam.
