Tom and Jodi Bearden had just finished renovations on a home that they recently purchased when it was struck by lightning and burned to the ground in the early morning of Friday, May 3. They safely left with their dogs and cars, but the home is a total loss. Fire crews struggled to fight the fire after a water truck flipped over en route to the scene and additional resources were limited in their rural neighborhood. Any help is unexpected, but much appreciated, and will be used to help them as they recover. The Beardens have also suggested that they would like to use funds raised to help provide for a neighborhood water source for fire fighters to access in the event of another emergency in our small community.
