And now it needs a community to exist.
Bearded Tooth is an original independent feature film; bold, strange, funny, and deeply human. This campaign is about taking a step toward bringing it into the world.
Hi, I’m Alex Garcia Mallarini, a writer and director working on my first feature film.
I’m making Bearded Tooth because I believe stories and creators should take risks. The safest path is rarely an honest one and when you love and believe in your passion the only way to push is forward.
This film isn’t here to please everyone.
It’s here to mean something and I hope it connects with you.
WHAT IS BEARDED TOOTH:
Bearded Tooth is a dark comedy / drama set in a surreal afterlife resort, at Serenity Springs, souls are promised luxury before their inevitable reincarnation. There is no choice. No second chances. Just an endless cycle of return.
Oscar, a quiet, reluctant soul, wants to find a way out but feels trapped, until he meets Ada, a sharp-witted woman searching for the sister she lost. Her refusal to accept their endless reincarnation situation sparks something in him, and together they begin to unravel the cracks beneath Serenity Springs’ polished facade.
With time running out and the system closing in, Oscar and Ada must confront an impossible question: Can fate be rewritten, or are they just another story trapped in an endless loop?
At its core, the film explores:
• What it means to feel invisible
• The fear of choosing yourself
• Systems built on control and comfort
• And the cost of breaking a cycle
It’s strange, funny, unsettling and emotional in ways that sneak up on you. Bearded Tooth is for the people who feel like they don’t quite fit into the system they were given. For anyone who’s ever felt stuck between who they are and who they’re expected to be.

A CAREFULLY DESIGNED WORLD:
Bearded Tooth exists in a world that is both seductive and unsettling. Luxurious on the surface, but charged with quiet tension underneath it all. Rich, moody colors will be used to shape the emotional divide between Serenity Springs and whats beyond its borders.
In the resort, the camera feels restrained and claustrophobic with composed frames, minimal movement, and lingering shots that create tension. In contrast, the outside is captured with wider, more open compositions, allowing space, breath, and possibility.
Every visual choice mirrors the characters’ emotional arcs, balancing the sinister with the hopeful. We love the world of Bearded Tooth because it’s beautiful by design but also intentionally unsettling.
WHY WE’RE DOING THIS:
This campaign exists to move Bearded Tooth from the page into the real world. Your support directly goes toward:
- Building the visual language of the film
- Preparing shot lists, storyboards, and production design
- Collaborating with key creatives to translate the script into images
- Developing proof-of-concept material and early footage
