An early morning emergency colonoscopy on February 27 led to an immediate identification of a 2 x 4 cm tumor. Excessive bleeding led to an ER visit that afternoon. The blessing was completing the multitude of tests required to be scheduled for surgery. I was discharged on February 29 and headed home for rest and prayer. On February 30 the official diagnosis of colon rectal cancer.
A surgery to remove the tumor was was successful on March 17, but also revealed cancer activity in lymph nodes. Chemotherapy is the only current option. The first of twelve Chemo cycles led to an ER visit and missing days of work. The exhaustion, brain fog, and nausea limit activity and minimalize work.
Kim is a single mom. Her mom arrived for the surgery and plans to stay until chemo is over and Kim has recovered. The pain increases daily. Kim is currently employed with an awesome Christian school allowing her the freedom to work from home. The first cycle of Chemo led to many days of sleeping. Missing work due to the demands of Chemo has already begun to take a toll on savings.
First, Kim asks for prayer. This journey is full of fear and worry. The pressure to miss work and cover bills is overwhelming. Please join her in requesting God’s will for all of this and the opportunity to display God’s glory in everything in her life. Second, pray for a clear plan to cover the financial burden she will face throughout this cancer journey..
