I’d like to make a final update to all of you amazing people.

Both Bear and Orca’s insurance companies paid out for their full coverage and I have now successfully paid off the £10k load I took out. Due to the incredible number of donations from all of you amazing people, there is some fundraising money left over. This will be going directly to the fantastic non-profit service Animal Ambulance & Rescue who not only ensured Bear made it to the critical care hospital alive, to give him the very best chance of survival, but they have been so incredibly generous in helping me to create a legacy for my Danes. They are putting their faces on their new animal ambulance, along with a QR code to a website telling their story. I have pledged to continue to help this amazing service, and will do all that I can to help support them and Bear and Orca’s ambulance.

It would have been Bears 6th birthday last week. A sad milestone, and I know there are many more of these to come. I miss them every single day, and am still not sure I’ve processed their loss fully. But I hold on to the incredible feeling of love and support I received - and am still receiving, even now. I don’t really feel there are the right words to pass on to each of you, some of whom I haven’t even met, to attempt to show you the gratitude I feel. I don’t think the words even exist. So I’ll have to use the standard “thank you”, although please understand that I feel so much more than that of ‘thanks’. A friend has pledged to “Be More Bear” and live their life spreading love, and just being kind. And that’s what I promise to do to. I hope none of you ever go through anything horrid, but if you do, please reach out to me and I will always help and support you all, in return for all that you have done for me. All my love x Emma x
