I am Arshdeep Singh, organizing this gofundme to send my late uncle Jeet Singh’s mortal remains back to India and financially support his family. Coming from the small town of Begowal in the Punjab province of India, Jeet Singh, like other immigrants, arrived in the United States with a heart full of hopes and dreams. Little did his wife and two small kids ( 9 and 11 years old) back home knew that his life would be cut short at just the age of 44. Jeet moved to the United States 6 years ago and since then, he was working at a gas station and restaurant. One week prior to his death he had been working as a trucker in Florida with one of his friends. He was the sole breadwinner of his family and every month, without fail, sent remittances to his wife and children. Jeet wanted to secure a good future for his children who, in his own words, were his world. Jeet passed away on the morning of 23rd August, having suffered a severe cardiac arrest. His family’s only wish, in these difficult times, is to receive Jeet’s mortal remains in India so they can see their beloved one last time and perform his last rites in his homeland. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, goes straight towards Jeet’s funeral expenses, sending his mortal remains to his family in India, and helping his family cope with the financial setback, of having lost their sole earning member.
