Bean is a sweet 6 week old kitten with a condition called pectus excavatum. It means his sternum is going inward and causing his chest to cave inward, not leaving enough room for his lungs to fully expand. His sternum happens to be so deformed it is touching his heart.




Bean needs surgery to correct this deformity before he starts having respiratory issues. He needs a chest plate put on. They suture his sternum to an external plate, pulling it into the correct position. It is then left there for about 6 weeks while the bone adjusts to the new position then if all goes well it gets removed!




Dr Rose will be doing this procedure and our estimated cost is $3000-$3,500. This is one of many big surgeries we have coming up and we desperately need your help to pay for it.
