Beanie's Fight for Life After Attack
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Gary, and this is Beanie—my 4½-year-old mini Aussiedoodle famous for his signature “tail-to-wag-butt dance.” On the night of Wednesday May 21, while walking Beanie home at 1 AM in San Francisco, an unleashed dog attacked him without warning. In seconds, Beanie sustained life-threatening injuries: torn skin and abdomen, multiple broken ribs, a collapsed lung and chest cavity, and a partially destroyed lung. During the attack, I also badly injured my hand trying to protect him.
Beanie has been in critical care, hooked up to IVs and was fighting to survive. Despite our efforts, the owner of the unleashed dog that attacked him has not come forward—so our only path to justice and to saving Beanie rests entirely on this community’s generosity. The emergency surgery and round-the-clock treatment he desperately needed will add up to over $45,632, and my medical bills for treating my hand may exceed $13,320. I have need medical care for my hand to help care for Beanie.
