Help save BeanieBucket! Latina Hatmaking Business

Black Lives Matter.

During Minneapolis’ racial justice protests after the brutal murder of George Floyd and so many others, fires destroyed Nina and Judith's storage facility on East Lake Street. They lost their inventory of hand-made hats. Their small business had already been shut down due to COVID-19 and the stay-at-home orders that led to the closure of the Minneapolis Craft Fair, where they sold their hats. As they rebuild their business from scratch, they plan to donate partial profits to racial justice and social impact.

Nina Borja and Judith Diaz are Latinx immigrant women who co-founded a small business selling hats that are 100% vegan, 100% up-cycled (sustainable) fabrics, and 100% handmade with love. See here:

As they rebuild BeanieBucket, they will donate part of their profits to racial justice and social impact. This fundraiser will keep their business afloat after being affected by COVID-19 government mandates and inventory destruction. Your donation will help Nina and Judith design/create/handmake new hats to raise awareness around social justice and donate a portion of each sale to nonprofits working in solidarity. BeanieBucket's donations will support these causes:

- Solidarity (BLM, antiracism, immigrants)
- Inclusive Justice (policing/criminal justice reform)
- Planet Love (climate change, environmental justice)
- Resilience (global health, Covid-19, and cancer efforts)

We are a volunteer team of college students from Embolden ( who are helping Nina and Judith rebuild their business. 100% of your donations will go to Nina for her BeanieBucket business. Thanks for your support, and keep your eyes peeled for new BeanieBucket offerings coming soon!!

Nonprofits that Nina and Judith will support with BeanieBucket sales:

Solidarity - Color of Change, Movement for Black Lives

Inclusive Justice - NAACP, ACLU, Equal Justice Initiative
Planet Love - Climate Emergency Fund, Clean Air Task Force, Coalition for Rainforest Nations

Resilience - Save the Children, Doctors Without Borders, Against Malaria Foundation
