Hi my name is Israel. My wife's name is Rachel and we have two children, Scarlett (7) and Abram (3 in Oct) and our rescue dog, Luna.
In the summer of 2018, I went in to my doctor for a routine checkup. On my way back home that day, the doctors office called me and sent me to the ER immediately due to critically low sodium levels. After checking me, I spent the next week in the ICU while doctors tried to find out what was happening. During the search they discovered a tumor on my pituitary gland (we named the tumor Terry) at the base of my brain. It was benign but the size of a walnut so would eventually obstruct my optic nerves if it grew anymore.
I had brain surgery to have it removed which was mostly successful but we would need to follow it up with radiation treatment to get what the surgery couldn't. That was completed earlier this summer.
Being my family's main source of income, this has been a huge financial burden. I currently have a great job but the debt accrued since last summer has been crippling. If we raise $5k that will put our family back on track to be able to stay on top of any future finances.
