Beach Volleyball- Food Drive
Donation protected
As a high school volleyball player, I wanted to make a difference in my community with my passion of volleyball. Therefore, I am going to host a beach volleyball tournament with a food drive. My goal is to raise $2,000 dollars for Second Harvest Food bank; http://www.secondharvestmetrolina.org/. For 1 dollar, we can purchase 7 pounds of food. Just think of all the kids and seniors who do not have to go hungry in North Carolina. I cannot imigine going to bed on an empy stomach every night. For my tournament, I am only charging $20.00 a person so everyone can attend. My courts only hold 80 people for the tournament. With all the expenses, it is going to be tough for me to meet my goal. If I could make people aware of need to feed others and drive donations to be able to purchase 14,000 pounds of food for my community, this would be tremendous!! I would know that many others were not starving in my community. Overall it blows my mind, that people in my community are hungry and starving. I know for myself, I carry extra protein bars to give to people on the corners who are hungry food but this is just not enough. I want to impact more people. If everyone can just give a little, we can beat this terrible situation we have with people being hungry in our community. Please help me with my cause to stop hunger. I would be very thankful and feel very blessed to know that others feel the way I do and we took action together. If you could donate before May 7th, this would be great. I would like to announce the completed funds at the beach tournament to show others how people are generous and maybe that will drive others to donate too. Thank you for any amount you give from the bottom of my heart.
