Lydia and Judi, who are near and dear to my heart as I am sure they are yours, need our help. Lydia was struck by a car while walking on campus on Tuesday, March 9. She was hit from behind and the driver (another student) left the scene. The driver has since been identified and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Bodily Harm.
Lydia fractured her L1 lumbar, has a broken toe, a sprained ankle, a bit of road burn from where she hit the sidewalk, and a good bit of trauma, as does her mother.
She came home Sunday, March 14.
Lydia is currently in a back brace, a walking shoe on one foot and a brace on the other. They are predicting 2-3 months in the back brace with perhaps 6 months to heal. There will be PT, repeated follow-up doctors’ appointments and likely other types of treatment. Additionally, travel and housing costs (for Judi) will be incurred.
This past December, Judi’s position was eliminated due to COVID.
As you can imagine, the expenses are already piling up. It will likely be up to two years before any reimbursement. Delayed payments will effect Lydia's credit forever.
You can also help by sending prayers and/or positive vibes, lifting them up for healing. Feel free to share this on your Facebook page.
Thank you all, in advance, for any help you can give.
With love,
Becky
