Bea is in need of urgent vet treatment!!

You may or may not have had the joy of meeting Bea the spaniel, but you’re here because you’ve heard of her. Bea has recently got herself into a bit of a pickle, having gone lame and subsequently being diagnosed with a fracture to the elbow. The cause is simply from being a spaniel, loving life and going at 100mph.

The prognosis is 50/50 - we’re trying the rest and recoup method and hoping this works, but in the meantime she is going to need a CT scan to determine the severity of the fracture for a tailored treatment plan. The CT alone will cost £2000, with consequent surgery probable and quoted in the region of £3500.

Without this as an option the future does not look good - or long - for this lovely girl. This is not a future I can bear to imagine and it is not fair on poor Bea, who remains cheerful, upbeat and always ready for dinner, despite her creaky bones. I’m not sure she’s even aware she’s broken.

Bea was unable to be insured because she came to me from a rehoming shelter from an elderly couple who had died after getting her as a puppy. Her lack of records from the first 18 months of her life have meant insurance companies won’t touch her with a 10 foot pole. Neither her or my lack of finances can be blamed on her, it’s just the card we’ve been dealt.

I’m asking for any donation you can manage, if you’re in a position to do so. I will be fully transparent with bills and payments and anything donated over what’s needed will go to PDSA - a pet charity for animals in need of veterinary attention (we are not eligible). Bea will repay you in content, smiles and stupid spaniel moments.
