Grieving Baby Ulysses & Easing Medical Debt 4 the Jankowskis
Donation protected
Friends, family, & compassionate hearts,
There is an incredible opportunity for us to be "the village" for a beautiful family in our community; to help ease some of the burden that has been weighing on them in the last several months…
First time parents, Emily & Remington Jankowski, found out they were expecting their first child on February 8th, 2024 after 5 sweet years of marriage. Like all first time parents, they looked to the future with so much excitement and anticipation. Unfortunately, it was discovered at their routine 20-week anatomy scan that their beautiful son, Ulysses, would be born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type 2 (also known as Brittle Bone Disease)-a condition that is terminal. Osteogenesis Imperfecta does not allow for the ribs to form correctly, and because of this, children born with this cruel disease are not able to breathe on their own.
So while Ulysses is cozy, safe and so very, deeply loved inside of his mama right now, his parents are preparing to meet and say goodbye to their precious son at the time of his birth-sometime at the end of September or early October.
To add to their immense heartbreak, there are practical concerns they are unable to ignore.
Shortly before they discovered Ulysses condition, both Remington and Emily were laid off from their full time jobs. The medical debt that has accumulated with each test, ultrasound, lab, & travel to meet with their maternal-fetal specialist is simply devastating.
Thankfully, Remington has found work in recent weeks, but will be unable to take time off after the birth to grieve alongside his freshly postpartum wife.
Friends, this family is so, so special. Their joy is infectious. Their kindness and love for others is a rare find in a world that can so often feel hard and cold. To know these two is to love them.
Let's help this family grieve their son without worry, heal from birth, dig them out from under the mountain of medical debt, and show them the love they freely give every. single. day.....even in the midst of their own suffering.
ANY AMOUNT HELPS!
Donations will help cover medical & memorial costs, travel expenses (they are birthing a few hours away from home), groceries, housing costs and hopefully allow Remington to take some time off to grieve with Emily!
Thank you, thank you, thank you from the depths of my heart! You all are a BLESSING!
