Assalamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,

I recently received videos from a small mosque and madarasa in Kenya — a place filled with children eager to learn the Quran, yet missing the very things they need to continue. Some of these children are orphans, but their smiles are filled with light and hope.

They gather every day, sitting on the floor with open hearts, reciting whatever little they can remember. Many don’t have Qurans, notebooks, or even proper space to study. Still, they come — humble, and full of faith.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”

And what better gift can we give than helping a child learn the words of Allah? Every verse they recite, every surah they memorize, becomes a continuous charity (sadaqah jariyah) for you. The reward never ends, even after we leave this world.
