My name is Mika Johnson, and I’m a retired Registered Nurse with a heart that still beats to serve—this time, far beyond hospital walls.
Recently, I have captured the powerful vision of New Dawn Ministries Of Hope 501 (c)3 that I believe came straight from God: to bring life-saving food and clean water to the starving families in the Samburu region of Kenya.
New Dawn Ministries of Hope is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that partners with New Dawn Samburu Ministry and Rescue Center in Kenya to support marginalized individuals in the Samburu region.
Activities and Services include the following:
- Clean Water Access: Drilling water wells in drought-stricken Samburu villages to provide safe, sustainable drinking water and reduce life-threatening illnesses like typhoid and cholera.
- Food Relief Programs: Supplying food to those experiencing starvation, particularly individuals relying on low-paying, menial jobs.
- Educational Support: Funding school expenses for impoverished girls and boys, helping them escape challenges like poverty, forced marriage, and female genital mutilation (FGM).
- Microbusiness Initiatives: Providing start-up costs for small businesses, such as assisting women in creating and selling jewelry, fostering self-empowerment and sustainability.
- Medical Assistance: Offering financial support for medical needs, especially for orphans and impoverished individuals lacking resources.
The organization focuses its efforts on the Samburu region of Kenya, working closely with local leaders like Bishop Peter Lesurapus to implement these initiatives.
These remote villages are in crisis. Hunger grips their every day, and clean water is nearly nonexistent. Children cry themselves to sleep with empty stomachs. Mothers walk for hours—sometimes all day—just to collect a single, contaminated bucket of water shared with animals. Many families survive on just one small meal every two days—if they’re lucky. The suffering is relentless. While the needs are overwhelming, my mission is urgent and focused: to provide the immediate, life-saving essentials of food and water to these villages where every moment is a fight to survive.
I may be retired, but my calling to care for others has never stopped. I cannot ignore what I’ve seen and felt. That’s why I’m stepping out in faith to raise funds.
Every dollar you give will go directly toward feeding the hungry and drilling wells in the hardest-hit areas of the Samburu region of Kenya. I am partnering with trusted local contacts to ensure these resources reach the right hands—quickly and effectively.
This mission is urgent: Lives depend on it.
Your support can be the miracle they’re praying for. Just $10 can feed a family. $50 can help bring clean water where there is none. You can be the hands and feet of Jesus to a community crying out for hope.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.” — Proverbs 19:17
Now is the time. Let’s answer the call. Together, we can bring not just food and water—but dignity, healing, and the love of Christ to the forgotten.
If your heart is stirred by their suffering, I ask you to respond—with whatever you can. Your gift, no matter the size, has the power to nourish a child, quench the thirst of a desperate mother, and remind an entire village that they are not forgotten.
If you’re unable to give, please share this campaign. Your voice could be the bridge between heartbreak and hope.
With compassion and an unwavering heartbeat to help,
