Be the Light for Leah’s Family

My name is Liz Harmon, and I am trying to raise money for my cousin Leah, her husband, and child. I created the same GoFundMe a few weekends ago but had to delete it because of errors I made when I made her the beneficiary. Those who donated to that one should have their refunds completed, or will be shortly!

Two days before Valentine’s Day, my cousin Luke took the lives of his own mother, Valerie Howard, and his Aunt Joyce Austin. He drove from Lenexa, KS to Liberty, MO to turn himself in at Walgreens.

Days, weeks, and even years before this, his family lived in fear as they watched his anger get worse and worse. I have personally seen his dark and angry behaviors, but I can’t fathom what those who were closest to him had to witness... up to their last living breath.

My cousin Leah and her family are now burdened with emotional trauma and financial hardships from these circumstances. By the goodness of her lawyer, they were able to stop her mom’s trust from going to Luke, who has the audacity to make reports illegally, just so he could get what little is left in the trust. This will take some time to go into effect.

I am requesting help for her to pay for the urn, legal fees, and the moving truck she needs to move her mom's belongings from the house in Olathe.

Leah’s gratitude for things both little and small is a beautiful, tender emotion to watch because it’s SO GENUINE. Money CAN buy a sense of relief, which is a product of happiness!
