UPDATE: I'm not sure where Koby will use doggie daycare, but based on what I found in the area, if he prepays for a full month (20 working days per month), and a few 1/2 days for interviews, and $100.00 for dog food, as well as fees that Gofundme will take, then it's more reasonable that he will need at least $1500.00. I hope there are still people in the community willing to help to reach the goal!

Sometimes, all someone needs is one break.

I recently learned about a man in my community who is currently experiencing homelessness and living out of his car with his beloved dog, his loyal companion.

Like many of us, he is trying to improve his situation and get back on his feet. The problem is, there is one major obstacle standing in the way of job interviews and steady employment: his dog.

Because he has a large dog and no stable place to leave him safely during interviews or work hours, finding reliable care has become one of the biggest barriers to moving forward. Many people have wanted to help, but ongoing dog care is understandably difficult to commit to. Sure, some people will say to get rid of the dog, but if you have ever had a pet, that isn't an easy decision.

That’s where we hope our community can step in.

The goal of this fundraiser is simple: to help cover temporary doggy daycare/boarding costs, and some dog food, for a few months, so he can:

• Attend job interviews without worrying about his dog

• Start working and maintain employment

• Have a safe, reliable place for his companion during work hours

• Focus on rebuilding stability and getting back on his feet

For many people facing hardship, one unexpected challenge can create a cycle that feels impossible to escape. In this case, a safe place for his dog could be the very thing that helps him move from surviving to rebuilding.
