Hello, my name is Laurence and I am an established ultramarathon runner from Scotland who wants to help a fellow distance running friend achieve his dream.

Mo Khalil is a long-distance runner from Palestine who is striving to shed light on athletes living under challenging conditions in Palestine — particularly runners who face immense obstacles just to train.

The lack of proper training spaces and the restrictions imposed by the occupation have made regular training nearly impossible. Over the past two years, Mohammed has only managed to participate in one race — a half marathon in Amman — where he was unable to achieve his goal. Today, he can only watch runners from around the world on a television screen, while he remains sidelined by circumstances beyond his control.

Despite it all, Mohammed holds on to his dreams — big dreams. His greatest ambition is to compete in the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, a goal that demands serious and sustained preparation.

To pursue this dream, Mohammed has developed a plan that spans from August 2025 to the summer of 2028. It starts with his participation in a race in Ireland in August 2025, followed by a six-month intensive training camp in Kenya. After that, he will continue preparing in Morocco, joining professional training camps as he gears up to compete in the World Championships — a crucial step toward qualifying for the Olympics.

All available financial resources will go directly toward this journey: travel, race fees, and accommodation during the training camps.

Mohammed isn’t asking for much — just a space to train without restrictions, a qualified coach, and the opportunity to chase his Olympic dream. He believes that determination can overcome any obstacle, and that representing Palestine on the Olympic stage is within reach.
