Hello my name is Susie, I recently got out of foster care at 18 years old and currently living on my own for the very first time in a cute small apartment. I uploaded videos on tiktok sharing my new life and apartment with the world. I didn't expect to receive so much support from people wanting to reach out to congratulate me, share words of wisdom and even offered to help out financially. Its been already a few weeks and I still cant believe the comments being so supportive and requesting for a gofundme, wishlists etc. Excluding foster care I've never received or have been offered help like this and its been a rollercoaster of emotions questioning why? why would a total stranger help another complete stranger...It really opened up my eyes that I'm not alone and there is in fact so many people in the world who have love and compassion for others as I do. I finally made this gofund me and it feels kind of awkward. I didnt know how much to put, gofundme recommended I put $350 then they were going to raise it little by little, which I believe is a lot. Not sure how to feel about this, I've been talking to a free online therapist and shared the experience I've been having on tiktok and she told me its ok to accept help but to be careful and that I would be surprised at how many people would actually care about me for being me.
