Be Part of Niq's Pin Back Bolo Success

Howdy! I’m Niq—and I Created a New Kind of Bolo Tie
I'm launching a brand new product: the Pin Back Bolo Tie—a fun, western-inspired way to wear your favorite enamel pins.

Wait... What’s a Pin Back Bolo Tie?!
So glad you asked! A traditional bolo tie is a piece of cord or braided leather held together by a decorative slide, usually a stone or metal pendant, and it's worn like a necktie.

A Pin Back Bolo Tie makes that idea customizable. Instead of a stone or pendant on the front, I created a slide mechanism that acts as the back of a pin. That means you can attach any pin you love and wear it as a bolo tie. No more limiting your pins to backpacks or jackets, now they can be front and center.

What Will Your Donation Cover?
The money raised will go toward:
  • The cost of creating a mold
  • Manufacturing the first large batch of bolo slides
  • Acquiring real leather cords and metal tips
  • Legal fees for securing a patent and trademark on the design

A Special Thank You for Your Support
Anyone who donates $40 or more will receive their very own Pin Back Bolo Tie! Consider it a pre-order or just a heartfelt thank you.
Either way, I’d be so grateful for your support.

Let Me Back Up: How This All Started
This project has been over a year in the making. In May 2024, I posted a TikTok showing my early prototype, just to test the waters. That video now has over 200k views, 35k likes, and thousands of comments from future customers asking how they can get their pin-obsessed paws on this customizable accessory.
After that video took off, I quietly opened an Etsy shop selling handmade versions. Without promoting it or telling anyone, I started getting orders from people who hunted down the product just from that one TikTok.

That told me I wasn’t the only one excited about this idea.

Why I’m Not Making the Slides by Hand Anymore
While my handmade prototypes sold on Etsy, they were incredibly time-consuming to make, and leaned more “craft project” than “polished accessory.” So, I decided to hire an engineer and partner with a U.S.-based manufacturer to produce the bolo slide component, the tricky part that holds the pin.

That said, I’m still a one-person operation! I’ll be assembling every cord and clasp, packaging every order, and kissing it passionately on its way out the door.

I’ve Done the Work, Now I Just Need a Boost
I’ve self-funded the entire first year of this project: buying tools and supplies, hiring help for R&D, testing designs and materials, and working through several rounds of prototypes. Now I’ve landed on a version that’s functional, affordable, and ready to go.

All that’s left is the final push to make manufacturing a reality.

Let’s Make Pin Back Bolos Happen
I’m so close to launching, and anything you can contribute will help me cross the finish line. Even sharing this with your friends, family, and enemies is a huge help.

Thank you so much for supporting this idea,
