Be part of Margaret’s winning team and sponsor her at the British Dressage Para Competitions
Your sponsorship could help her continue in her journey to ultimately achieve Silver and then Gold Awards as outlined below.
Margaret is 49 years old and has been riding and carriage driving with Riding for the Disabled (RDA) since she was 5. She is now helping to give back to RDA by, in addition to her riding, becoming a coach and trustee of the Border Group RDA
In 2017, Margaret made the decision to concentrate on dressage, following previous success at Para Carriage Driving. From then, and until 2023, she competed in RDA Regional and National championships with great success.
Scotland only started competing in British Dressage Para (BDP) competitions around the country in 2023 and Margaret came second in Grade 1 in her first competition at this level. This year, she has already had a first and a second before winning the Grade 1 BDP Home Nations competition. As part of Team Scotland, Margaret’s score of 73.95 brought the Team within one point of winning the overall competition, having to settle for second place out of a total of eleven teams. During this competition she also gained enough points to attain a Bronze level of performance. Her goal is to continue and work towards gaining Silver and subsequently Gold.
Margaret would be the first to tell you that she could not have achieved this level of success without her stalwart equine partner, Domino. He is a shining example of a well schooled multifunctional horse and helps children and adults at the group improve their lives through therapy and sport. However, the special partnership that he has with Margaret showcases both their talents to a completely different standard. Competing at this level and working with dressage coaches can be expensive. Coupled with upkeep, transport and travelling costs this is a significant outlay which cannot and should not be met from RDA funds, hence our request for sponsors.
