Hello! My name is Martez Lee, and I’m a senior TV and Film major at Howard University. My team and I are excited to share with you our thesis project, 7:3, a romantic comedy that explores the complexities of relationships, self-deception, and the consequences of juggling multiple romantic interests. 7:3 follows Tariq, a young man caught in a tangled web of romance as he juggles three very different women—Kata, Tyler, and Alexia—each bringing excitement and complexity to his life. Inspired by the real-life gender ratio at Howard University (71% women to 29% men), the film explores how this imbalance shapes campus dating culture. As Tariq’s relationships, driven by sex and thrill, spiral into guilt and confusion, he’s forced to confront his choices and discover where his heart truly belongs.
