Be like Tom…walk with kindness!

Thomas Robert Whitaker passed away June 16, 2021 after a courageous 2 year battle with the very aggressive Glioblastoma brain cancer. He was only 34 years young. He lived with purpose, love and kindness every day! He enjoyed walking the Appalachian Trail, gardening, being with animals, camping/ hiking and spending time with friends and family. He was a devoted son, brother, nephew, cousin, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to so many. Tom lived bravely and courageously and rarely complained.

One of Tom’s philanthropic dreams was to help people with cancer pay off their bills. We plan to do this for patients at Clearview Cancer Institute, The Cancer Center of Huntsville and UAB. All places Tom received treatments.

Also, since hiking was Toms’s favorite hobby we will use the money to provide “trail magic” or necessities to hikers on the Appalachian Trail.
