B.E. Generous Hearts

Hello , my name is Tracey Rigstad and I have set up this Go Fund Me for my sweet nephew and niece. As the title says, B.E. stands for Ben and Elizabeth Breitenfeldt and this is their story.

When Ben and Elizabeth met and it was pretty obvious that they were meant to be together. After a couple years a wedding followed in October of 2015 to the delight of all of our family! Life was moving along and the couple had thoughts of starting a family. A short time later Elizabeth found a lump in her breast and her cancer journey began. She was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer. It has been 2 years and treatment was finally behind her when tragedy struck again. Ben was not feeling well around the first of the year and by May was hospitalized with liver failure. A genetic condition had put Ben in a position to need an emergent liver transplant. Monday June 6th our prayers were answered and Ben received a new liver. The road of recovery has been a rough one. Ben has had multiple surgeries to try and keep his liver alive and working. He has battled infection after infection and is still holding his own. We are proud of the work and positive attitude he has kept through it all. Still in ICU and having limited visitors makes this a long and hard journey.

This young couple is fighting to have the life they dreamed of. They bought a house and hoped to try and start a family once Elizabeth got the all clear. Now that is all on hold as Ben recovers and hopes to return home sooner then later. Ben and Elizabeth both work in the Milwaukee School District. Ben is still in critical condition and Elizabeth’s absence of work has created a financial hardship for this beautiful couple. Ben and Elizabeth are now at a point of needing help from our extended community.

Your donation will be used lessen the burden of medical bills and loss of work income and to make their older home more accessible during Ben’s recovery. .
