Help us get our short film into festivals!

Women are being infected with plague of abstinence, so when Penny is infected mid-date, her flirtations spiral into existential dread as she begins to unravel from the male gaze.

This is our short film, Femcel - a twisted anti-romcom playing out power dynamics, absurd fantasies, and societal breakdowns, exposing the chaos of modern intimacy. Think the tropes and flavour of old zombie movies meets Fleabag.

We’ve crafted this story to explore the nuances of our time—tackling "pretty privilege" and the rise of celibacy culture in the wake of culture wars.

Backstory - why are we doing this?

In July of last year, the UK police declared violence against women as “a national emergency” —an “epidemic” affecting two million women a year. This crisis, alongside the rise of men self-identifying as “incels” who blame women for their lack of intimacy and the unsettling influence of Andrew Tate’s rhetoric has clawed its way into the zeitgeist.

In response, online, the “done with men” trope and abstinence are gaining traction amongst women, reflecting a growing divide in heterosexual dynamics.

It feels like the energy between two opposing magnets - and that energy is where the idea was born. Femcel sinks its teeth into the tension, chews it up, and spits it back at you.

Festivals!

From securing talented cast and crew members, to covering essential equipment rentals, location fees, and post-production costs, the expenses quickly add up. We’ve carefully calculated our budget to ensure that each aspect of the production receives the attention it deserves without any compromise on quality.

We've drained our savings accounts to fufil our dream, and make this film we're hugely proud of! Now we need people to see it - that means film festivals.

Film Festivals get bums on seats and eyes on the screen, get us networking, and makes our next film more likely to get funded.

By supporting our film and helping us get to festivals, you're not just backing a project—you’re joining us on the path to something big!

We’ll be submitting to festivals such as the London Short Film Festival , BFI, Encounters, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Raindance, UK Film Festival, Bolton International, Wimbledon International, London Independent and Cambridge Film Festival.

Every contribution makes a big difference - also sharing this campaign (with your rich friends) also helps!

Think of it like this: a quick ASOS haul? That’s £50, gone in a scroll.
A Deliveroo for two? £30 . A pint? That’ll be a fiver, unless you’re in London—then it’s basically your rent.
You wouldn’t blink at dropping £50 on a night out? Or a gym membership you never use.

So instead of that, place a bet on two broke, feircely ambitious filmmakers instead.
