No family ever wants to hear the words “cancer, leukemia, chemotherapy” especially when you’re talking about a child. On February 10th, we received the news that our sweet six year old, Gus, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Gus is currently at Cohen’s Children’s Hospital fighting like a superhero, charming the nurses and doctors but also missing his brother Jack (4), sister Andie (2), cousins, family & friends very much.
From a very young age Gus’ imagination was the most wonderful thing to watch. If you were lucky enough to join him in that magical world, it was easy to fall in love with the little boy with the big hazel eyes. If you want to hear happiness, listen to Gus laugh; if you want to see kindness, watch Gus play with others; and if you want to feel joy, just talk to Gus. The biggest heart, the most charming soul and the brightest light in our family… the world would be such a better place if we were all a little more like Gus.
Right now, Alyssa & Christyn are focusing on what matters most; being there for Gus. They are already facing overwhelming medical expenses and they still have a long road ahead of them. With unforeseen expenses in order to provide the best possible care for Gus, we have created this GoFundMe to ease the financial burden. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps a lot!
Thank you so much for your support & please keep Gus, Alyssa, Christyn, Jack & Andie in your thoughts and prayers. #BraveLikeGus
