OUR STORY
Hi! Thanks for being here, first we should introduce ourselves. Our names are Abby and Ellyn Daniels (a.k.a. the donut girls). You have probably seen us at the farmers markets, community gatherings, around our town (Waynesboro, PA), or Friday pop ups in our food truck Dawn & Dusk donuts which we started as college students. Originally, it was going to be just a fun way to make some money, but we quickly realized it was a heck of a lot of fun and more importantly we LOVED GETTING TO MEET PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY.
Soon after opening we thought, "How can we keep meeting new people but in a greater capacity?", "Why not open a brick and mortar coffee shop serving coffee and homemade baked goods?" "Yes!!". The answer was a no brainer! Our goal is to have a gathering place for our community to have morning meetings, lady luncheons, and a drive through for commuters. We will have Friday night pop up events like Spanish nights, pizza nights, and live music. All with the same goal - to love and serve our community through making ordinary moments extraordinary.
We named the coffee shop "Postmasters" because we were inspired by the postal system for many reasons. First, it existed because the desire and need for connection. Second, the post created inclusion. Mail was a right afforded to everyone no matter what their status. Third, the post created community by organizing a system that kept America connected to world events as well as to their loved ones. The post office was purposefully placed in the middle of the town so it was not only the place to grab one's correspondence, but a gathering place to get one's daily talking in. Our desire is that Postmasters, with your help, will continue the post's legacy in our community.
Since we opened Dawn and Dusk we received so much support from our community. We are currently doing all we can to get our doors opened in the coming months and wanted to involve all who wanted to participate. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to buy big items for our coffee shop like an oven and espresso machine. I know it has been a difficult season for so many people, so if you can help great, but if not we still can't wait to meet and serve you!
Thanks for taking time to hear our story and if you can't support with dollars please share our story with your friends via social media or with your words, you never know who will hear!
We are SOO EXCITED to have a space where we can cultivate these things. I hope together we can remind the world that the most seemingly ordinary things like a perfectly made latte and a smile can make an extra-ordinary impact on someones day!
love love love ,
Abby and Ellyn
