Hi there!
Welcome to Patchwork Community Care’s fundraiser. Patchwork Community Care: Primary Care for the People is a radically inclusive and affirming primary care clinic opening in western North Carolina. I’m Wren George, DMS, PA-C, AAHIVS, and I am opening this practice with the support of you, the people in my community all over the globe. Thank you for being a Patch in this Work of Community Care.
About the Clinic
Patchwork serves people in WNC who have been historically limited in their access to affirming care. This includes, but isn’t limited to:
- Queer and trans folks
- Neurodivergent folks
- People navigating chronic illness
- Folks living with HIV and hepatitis C
- Folks living in larger bodies
- People who have been harmed by the medical industrial complex
- People who use substances
This clinic will be located in a home-like environment, offering telehealth and home visits as needed and appropriate. We plan to offer a wide variety of supports in-office and through community connections for the populations we serve.
The Resources We Need
Money is one form of energy that we need to support this clinic. If you aren’t in a position to offer financial backing to this project, we are also looking for in-kind donations through art and furniture for our space, and time and skills you may have to offer to us. Sharing this fundraiser with people and aligned organizations in your sphere helps us so much. Hosting a fundraiser for us and donating the proceeds to our clinic’s start-up is another amazing way to support us, and there are likely a thousand additional options of support, and we are here to receive them as it supports and aligns with our vision and values.
Patchwork Community Care is intentionally named. We need your support in order to offer support for others, so in the spirit and framework of mutual aid, we are asking for your help. We cannot do this work alone, and we don’t want to. We need each other. We need you.
Every dollar that is donated to our fundraiser will be repaid, in the form of financial grants or in-kind donations back into the community we serve and love over the next five years. We will use your money, and then send it back out into the world to continue to be put to good use.
