What would you do if someone confided they were being abused in their relationship? Would you know how to respond—beyond just saying “leave” or “call the police”? What if you knew it was happening to your client, patient, student, someone you cared about, worked with or lived next door to, but were too afraid to get involved or didn't know what to do-so you did nothing. This, is where A Partnership For Change (APFC) comes in.

Since 2009, APFC, a NJ statewide non-profit agency, has educated communities on domestic violence/dating abuse and supported victims. For almost 17 years, we have been committed to training first responders—social service staff, law enforcement, healthcare workers, school counselors, clinicians, prosecutors, and advocates— along with high school and college students, community and business leaders and more. Our programs have provided them with practical tools and information to effectively support survivors and to help them and their children break free from abuse.

Prevention is the key to ending domestic violence, which is at the root of so many challenges in our communities. APFC's true focus is bold, innovative education that empowers those who interact with victims every day with the ability to respond with knowledge, compassion, and action and getting them to the ongoing support they need.

Reaching over 4,000 people across NJ each year, our programs don’t just inform—they save lives. Many participants have disclosed their own victimization, and through the years we’ve provided each with safety planning, support, and resources - 1,655 people in all!

For the first time, APFC is faced with unprecedented federal funding cuts that have now jeopardized our most impactful programming. We now look to you, the communities we serve, for help.
