So many of us know the impact that a kind word, a helping hand, and a wonderful spirit can have on us and on the world. Add in the healing touch of an exceptional father, son, friend, uncle and person, and you have Nick Adams. Nick has lived life the right way: exercised, pursued a healthy diet, and has dedicated his life to not only his family, his community, but also his career, and to all of those that have ever needed him. Sometimes life is not fair; we are feeling a heavy burden to support Nick and his family as he has been recently diagnosed with an aggressive/intermediate Prostate cancer. Since being diagnosed in March 2022 the pathology came back cancer was worse than they thought. He has also had a nerve clip embed through his bladder wall and pass through the urethra during the healing process from his prostatectomy. Doctors put him on ADT therapy and in fall of 2022 he completed 36 rounds of Radiation. After completing that, he then developed a urinary stricture due to treatment or trauma of the cancer and was unable to urinate. Doctors went in and cleaned out the scar tissue. Nick then continued with several catheters and self cathing and ended up in the hospital several times because the stricture was so bad he couldn’t self cath to relieve himself. Doctors then decided on a suprapubic catheter so he can have a robotic surgery to fix his bladder neck and urethra. Several more hospital stays ending with MRSA and other infections due to the suprapubic catheter. After having this cather removed five times he was accepted at the Tampa General Hospital, to undergo robotic reconstruction surgery of the bladder neck and urethra. Although him and his family's hopes were through the roof, after checking in the doctor would once again hit them with discouraging news that the process would not take place. He was sent home where he collapsed and went into seizure like activity. Nick is back in the care of medical staff they have been let down by so many times, and left feeling defeated. This sudden diagnosis has left him unable to work and questioning not only his own future, but the future of his family. Help us support a family that has spent their whole life supporting so many: donate to tackle extensive medical bills, copays, living expenses, and to relieve some burden from Mindy, his amazing wife who has been by his side since day one battling this with him. Nick would sacrifice everything to ensure his family has the life of comfort, peace and enjoyment. Let’s come together as a community to ensure this sweet family doesn’t have to worry about finances; they have too big a mountain to climb. Many prayers appreciated.
