I'm Tonya Stapleton, Stacey Lupo's sister-in-law and I created this gofund me page to try and help Stacey and her husband with the financial burden of her unexpected sudden change in health. Stacey is a 35yr old mother of 3 and Grandmother of 2. She previously overcame cervical cancer at the young age of 27. For the last 10 yrs, Stacey has played vital Administrative roles working for senior living companies giving all she had and putting herself on the back burner, to help seniors with little to nothing live a meaningful life.
Stacey woke up Thursday morning to a really bad headache and her vision was becoming very blurry. She was born blind in her left eye so she only has vision in her right and became extremely scared something was wrong. Her husband rushed her to the ER where they realized that her blood pressure was extremely high. At first the doctors thought it was a bad headache but after hrs of different iv bloodpressure meds her pressure would not come down so they had to admit her with a potent iv med that could only be monitored in the ICU. At that point the doctors were on a quest to figure out was was going on. After multiple tests and scans, it was determined that she was in End stage renal failure due to her prolonged high bloodpressure. To make matters worse, as her team of doctors were trying to diagnose her, she suffered from a stroke on her right side and a mild heart attack. At that point, they had to put her kidneys on hold and deal with her heart to try and avert a massive stroke or heart attack by doing a heart catherization to make sure there were no major blockages anywhere. By the grace of God, she had no blockage except for her right corrotit artery which is 60% blocked and no damage from her attack. Due to her kidneys not working, after the heart cath, they had to dialize her to try and preserve any kidney function she had left because of her young age. After over a week of stablizing her blood pressure, monitoring and diagnosing she was able to be discharged with the understanding that as soon as she starts to show signs of urimia she has to get back to the hospital asap to start dialysis and at that point get put on a list for a kidney transplant.
This situation has taken a drastic emotional life changing toll on their lives as well as a huge financial burden on her family due to being uninsured and her dialysis treatments when needed will be so expensive. Not to mention, Stacey will more than likely never be able to work in the field she dearly loves due to the high stress.
Like I stated before, Stacey has always taken care of less fortunate seniors and others, and put herself on the back burner to make sure that they were well taken care of. Now it's time we rally around her and her family and take care of them through this difficult time. We understand these economic trying times but If you find it in your heart, please help them with whatever you could afford. No donation is too small as every little bit helps. Thank you so much for the love, prayers and support that everyone has shown my sister-in-law so far.
